Another post to the blog--I'm on fire, here!

Today is Sally and Jason's 3rd wedding anniversary! Congrats, guys! I started my getting healthy/weight loss program right after their wedding (and after the 83 mini crab cakes and 2 bottles of wine I had at their wedding!). It's very eye-opening to look back at those pictures and see myself. I've almost forgot what it was like to be that person. I'm grateful for the change.

My nephew Charlie should be arriving any day now!!!! Mom is heading up to Chicago tomorrow for BABY WATCH 2005! The Lucas household is only totally consumed with the arrival of Charlie.

Steve hit his 35 pound WW goal this weekend---YAY FOR STEVE!!! He is only 16 pounds away from his goal! He is doing such a fantastic job and is inspiring people at his work to join the wagon--success is contagious! His reward for reaching this goal was a new watch. We went to the outlet malls with Randy and Kenji this weekend and Steve got a fancy pants new watch and some new basketball shoes. I got some much needed spring/summer clothes. Good times.

On Saturday night, we had Randy, Kenji, Saiko and baby Lynn over for a BBQ. A fun time was had by all. Dulcie met her first baby and she was curious--he just kept staring at Lynn. Kinda freaked the cat out. In other pet news, it looks like we'll be dogsitting Bowzer, Steve's parents' dog this fall and winter while they are in Florida (no pets allowed--well, in their condo, not in Florida). We're very excited about that! Bowzer is a great dog and it will be good dog training for us and good experience for the cat. Bowzer has ample cat experience, but Dulcie has no dog experience. I'm imaging her turning into Bucky from "Get Fuzzy!"

We visited the house on Saturday and there were bulldozers working away! They were backfilling dirt around the foundation and then putting dirt in the soon to be floor of the garage. We're hoping that in the next week or two, we'll have a frame up. We watched for like 20 minutes, mezmerized by the heavy machinery. In yet another attempt to kill myself, I tried to pick our "SOLD" sign, that was on the ground, getting destroyed. Of course, I was only about 10 feet away from one of the working bulldozers at this time. eeek! Steve was none too happy about that move.

Anyhoo, last night we watched "The Butterfly Effect." It was pretty entertaining, but a little freaky/scary. All those nosebleeds reminded me of my youth. I'm probably one of few children that was sent home because of a nosebleed in school. Such a claim to fame!

We also watched "Bridget Jones Diary 2" this weekend (have I mentioned how much we LOVE the library--free movie rentals!). Anyhoo, we thought it was pretty good. The skiing scene made us crack up. Her lightening speed trip down the mountain was very reminiscent to my ski experience. Steve nicknamed me "The Caucasian Bullett" because of my inability to stop. One small detail I didn't pick up during my lesson. ooops!

Steve will work late tonight and I'll post another boatload of stuff on Ebay. Good times.

Wedding Post!

Hi all!

Steve wants me to post on the blog more--so here it is! As you know, we're starting to plan our wedding. We have set a date and location, and the rest is falling into place. We'll get married (holy crap--that's crazy to say outloud!) on July 1, 2006 in Denver. We have chosen the Homestead Clubhouse at our new community subdivison as the location. We can have an outside ceremony in the beautiful space, with a view of the mountains in the background, and then party in the clubhouse. I'm having a great time thinking up details--here's hoping I don't drive Steve insane! :)

We hope that our family and friends can join us. Since it's in Denver, we'll send out Save the Date cards plenty in advance so all of our guests can mark their calendars and plan to be there.

In other news, we're still working hard on our getting healthy campaign. For the past two weeks, we've been dedicated to exercising--the one part of our health plan that we haven't made habit. So, we're being really good about getting activity in each day. In fact, I'm off to go walk at lunchtime now.

Rockies Win!!!!

Well, we got to witness the Rockies 2nd win of the season. Now they're only 2 games back of the Royals. Geez, what teams I get to cheer for. They were up by 3 runs, but in the ninth the reliever gave up 2 runs to get SF to within a run. Luckily, they popped out the last out and we got to see it all. We also witnessed the 400th Home Run hit at Coors Field, and guess what? It was only 4 rows in front of us and it bounced just to the right of us! Very close. Hannah was pretty excited!

Crazy people at baseball games. It's like one big high school with jocks, freaks, geeks, drunks, losers, tools, druggies, and hookers. It takes a good 4 innings to stop people watching and enjoy the game. But then that's usually when the fights start to muster.

We went to see the house today. The forms are off the foundation now. And it's a free standing unit. Pretty soon they'll be working on the structure of that puppy. We're super excited. Game Off!

Well, we didn't go to the Rockies game on Friday night--the tempature was going to get too low and no one liked the idea of sitting out in the cold. It looks to be warmer on Saturday, so we're planning on going then. No $1 hot dogs, but such is life. One has to have priorities. :)

We did go out to dinner with our friend Randy and then to see Sahara. Steve and Randy both really like Clive Cussler books. It was a pretty entertaing movie. The guys said it was pretty close to the book, but not exactly. We all liked it.

Steve and I will rise early on Saturday (or attempt to, at least) to get some exercising in before our WW meeting. Woo hoo!

I am hot to go see the community clubhouse to see if that's where we want to have the wedding. Steve thinks I'm being a bit premature, seeing as have more than a year to plan. But, I'm a girl....what can I say.

Rockies Game

Hannah, Randy, Ron's Family and I are going to the Rockies game tonight. They are playing the SF Giants. Han and I are pretty excited should be fun. It's dollar hot dog night, so you really can't go wrong there.

I'm watching a webcast from the Oracle VP's telling us what's on the roadmap for our future. It's ultimately the same things they've been saying the last few months. A few more details, but obviously nothing that would matter to me.

It's friday that's nice. Another weekend is upon us. We've got WW tomorrow morning. Hopefully the game tonight won't hurt us too bad at weigh-in. Then we're going to go see if anything new has happened at the home site. Hopefully so! I'm pretty sure Hannah wants to go see the community center in our community. It's a really nice and we're scoping it out as a site for wedding, reception, or rehearsal dinner. We don't know yet. Want to see it first before we

HOLY SNOW BATMAN!!!!!

We've got like 9 to 13 inches of snow today. That's a lot of snow. Granted the weather is calling for 70 on Thursday, so I guess it's just another Colorado welcome. A big shout out to Lucy. We apologize for not updating our blog enough. We promise to be better about it. I did put up another picture. And I think I'll even put another one up today.

On Saturday we drove by the home site and guess what!!?!?!? We've got a nice foundation. Yes, they've poured the foundation and it's the most beautiful foundation you've ever seen. Or at least Han and I think so. We took tons of pics and we'll be uploading them to top5ive.com shortly. So be looking forward to that. Too bad the blizzard of '05 (as channel 9 is calling it) will delay the home building process for awhile. We'll go out of our minds waiting for this house to be built I'm sure.

Ok, I'm outie 5. Trying to keep from going stir crazy from stuck in the house all day. I think we're going to make it. 2 movies down 13 going on 30 and city of god. the former is a total chick flick that i only enjoyed because mark rufalo was in it and the latter is a huge downer of a movie but it's a good movie even so.
