Happy Birthday to Steve!

Well, this past weekend was a very fun time!!

Steve turned 29 this weekend and we had a parrr-tay! He had nearly a perfect birthday day/weekend. On Friday night, the Kansas City Chiefs won (present #1). On Saturday, the Mizzou Tigers beat Nebraska (present #2). Then, he opened his birthday presents, which included a Best Buy gift card from the in-laws, a money gift from his parents (promptly spent at Best Buy) and an Ipod from me! As you can tell in the pictures above, he was completely SHOCKED by this gift! It was great. Then, we had friends and neighbors over for a birthday party/World Series party that evening. More than 20 people came and brought side dishes. Steve grilled out a fantastic amount of hamburgers. Everyone had a great time and we got to know our neighbors better. On Sunday, we chilled out (sleeping until 10 a.m.--how scandalous!), watched tv and read. All in all, it was a super fun weekend!

My older sister Sally is getting settled into her new house in Quincy. Her husband, Jason, just got a job as a financial analyst at a manufacturer there. Props to Jason! And Charlie, my 6 1/2 month old nephew is now eating some solid foods. Leah watched him eat rice cereal this weekend and said it was pretty disgusting. He's a giant, just grew out of his carseat and is now in a carseat for 1 year olds. I hope he remembers his Aunt Hannah and Uncle Steve when he's in the NBA! My mom and dad are about to explode with excitement about having them 4 hours closer. I can't wait to meet Charlie and watch him eat icky rice cereal at Thanksgiving!

Wedding stuff is proceeding along quite well! I met with a caterer today and she's going to work up a proposal. I ordered our wedding pinata today also. My cake toppers arrived from eBay and I'm a little disappointed in them, but it's no big deal. Our luminaries, candle holders and party favors have all arrived. All in all, I'm having a fun time without driving Steve too crazy! :)

Well, that's the news that's fit to print around here!

Hope everyone is great!

Love, Hannah
